The Palio della Marciliana is a historical re-enactment and one of the main popular city festivals held annually in Chioggia, in the province of Venice. It includes the Crossbow Tournament and attracts thousands of visitors to the city of the Venetian lagoon every year.

It is organised on the third weekend of June and brings to life with a series of events what was the medieval city in the years between 1378 and 1381, which saw what has gone down in history as the war of Chioggia, fought to gain hegemony over the commercial ports of the East (see Genoese colonies), between the Most Serene Republic of Venice and the Republic of Genoa.

Che interessante! No lo sapevo!!
