SALABORSA Library, the cultural heart of the “DOTTA”

Posted byblogstudyitalian1 December 2023Posted inSenza categoria

Salaborsa Library is a general information multimedia library that aims to document contemporary culture through all available documents: books, newspapers, magazines, maps, videos, audio CDs, DVDs (here is the complete mission).

Inaugurated in December 2001, it opens a rich and fascinating cultural and multimedia space inside Palazzo d’Accursio, the “almost castle”, the ancient historic seat of the Municipality which overlooks Piazza Maggiore, which has always been the center and heart of Bologna.

Under the crystal of the Covered Square you can admire the ancient excavations and the sedimentation of the various civilizations in a setting of harmony and light. Thus centuries of history come to life again, from the first hut settlements of the Villanovan civilization of the 7th century BC, to the Etruscan Felsina, to the Roman Bononia founded in 189 BC.. Some other historical information
