History tells that the Genius was born in the family home in Anchiano on April 15, 1452 and that in 1952, to celebrate the fifth centenary of the birth of the Genius, Luigi Einaudi and Alcide De Gasperi took part in the first great historical reenactment of Leonardo’s birth, within an event that involved the entire city. From that date, Leonardo Day was no longer celebrated until 1959.
