QS Ranking: the University of Bologna in the European top 50

The Alma Mater gains 30 positions in one year and reaches 48th place in the QS World University Rankings – Europe, and second place at national level. Among the University’s strengths are academic reputation, sustainability, international outlook and quality of research

The University of Bologna is among the top 50 universities in Europe, according to the new edition of the international QS World University Rankings – Europe. In one year, the Alma Mater has gained 30 positions going from 78th to 48th place at European level. A leap forward that also allowed it to reach second place at a national level.

Academic reputation, sustainability, international outlook and quality of research are the University’s strengths highlighted by the ranking, which this year includes 685 universities from 42 European countries, of which 51 are Italian. With the scores obtained in the various indicators, the University of Bologna exceeds 93% of all the other universities in the ranking.

The result of the Alma Mater, with 30 positions gained in one year, was officially rewarded by the QS network with the Global Engagement – Performance Improvement Award, a recognition given to the universities that have achieved the most improvements in all indicators compared to the last edition of the classification.
