THE HISTORY OF THE MODERNISSIMO
At the beginning of the twentieth century, where the medieval Palazzo Lambertini once stood, the foundations of Palazzo Ronzani were laid: a reinforced concrete building which houses an underground theatre, the Cinema Modernissimo, inaugurated in 1915. Between the 1950s and 1960s, a space modernization program led to the complete conversion of the theater spaces into cinemas. In 1955 there were two cinemas: the underground Cinema Modernissimo with access from Piazza Re Enzo 1 and the Cinema Centrale in via Rizzoli 3.

THE REOPENING
The day has arrived and the party will last a long time. After the restoration work, the Modernissimo cinema finally reopens and for the occasion directors and actors from all over the world will take part in the event. The name that stands out the most is certainly that of Wes Anderson: the American director will be the protagonist of some events from 21 to 30 November: Saturday 25 November to Monday 27 November. And again Jeff Goldblum, Giuseppe Tornatore, Marco Bellocchio, Paola Cortellesi, Alice Rohrwacher and Mario Martone. The resurfacing of the Art Nouveau jewel of Piazza Re Enzo was desired by the Cineteca di Bologna which worked hard to bring the room back to life by combining it with viewing according to current technological standards, both in terms of image restitution (the projection booth will be equipped of projectors for both film and digital formats up to 4K, the highest resolution possible today) and in terms of sound quality.
